Development of the Ponta Delgada 2030 Strategy and the Territorial-Based Action Plan (Urban ITI)
The Ponta Delgada 2030 Strategy has outlined a territorial development strategy aligned with the opportunities of the new EU funding programming cycle, with a particular focus on Azores 2030. It constitutes a strategic and guiding document for the Municipality's structural investments up to 2030, designed to address the main economic, social, urban, and environmental challenges of the municipality. Within this framework, the Ponta Delgada Place-Based Action Plan (PABT) implements, at the municipal scale, the territorial dimension of the Azores 2030 Programme and Cohesion Policy, through the Urban Integrated Territorial Instrument (ITI) provided for in Azores 2030. Aligned with the objectives of sustainable urban development, multimodal mobility, and climate transition, the PABT operationalises municipal action with a view to promoting urban revitalisation, territorial attractiveness, sustainable mobility, and the improvement of the population's quality of life. The plan integrates a coordinated set of investments in strategic urban and tourist areas of the municipality, materialized in nine priority actions.
