SPI, as partner of the European Observatory for Clusters and Industrial Change (#EOCIC) supported the organisation of the Partnering Event for European Cluster Partnerships taking place on the 25th of October in Brussels.
This one-day event gathered 50 cluster partnerships, including European Strategic Cluster Partnerships for Going International (ESCP-4i), European Strategic Cluster Partnerships for Smart Specialisation Investments (ESCP-S3), Innosup-1 projects and Cluster Excellence projects. The event aimed to allow cluster organisations to share experiences and explore linkages with other projects and initiatives.
The core of this Partnering Event focused on fostering group discussions around different topics through World Style Café sessions. Thus, one of the sessions addressed different strategic topics, such as how cluster partnerships can support SMEs with greater impact, how to create a sustainable partnership, or how to foster the establishment of joint activities with other projects and initiatives. Furthermore, a second round of discussion groups addressed different burning topics proposed by the participants, such as how to define high impact services for SMEs, how to foster the establishment of international colaborations or which services can be implemented to support cluster partnerships.
The event also included other sessions where DG GROW representatives announced key information regarding for the cluster community, such as the recent call for the organisation of “EU Cluster Weeks 2018-2019” throughout Europe and the plans for the future Joint Cluster Initiatives.
